Core Principles PT & Performance
Are you looking for something a little different from your physical therapy? Maybe you would like to be seen one on one by your physical therapist for an hour rather than just having a brief encounter with him or her before being shuffled off to someone else. Maybe you want to get to the root cause of your problem instead of just dealing with the symptoms. Maybe you would like to see if a Pilates based approach to exercise combined with manual therapy would help you as much as it has helped so many of our other patients. If so, it's time to join the Core Principles Physical Therapy family.
Thermostim probe
Our thermostim probe allows us to utilize heat or cold along with electrical stimulation while providing soft tissue treatment such as massage or trigger point release.
Mobilization
We use a variety of techniques to get joints and soft tissue moving again. Here a VooDoo floss band is being applied to the elbow to help this athlete regain elbow range of motion.
Pilates Based Exercise
Sure, we know all the "usual" physical therapy and conditioning/ strength exercises. We even use them quite a bit with our clients. What sets us apart from most, though, is our use of Pilates based exercise both for injury prevention and for rehabilitation. This system and the equipment associated with it allows us to help our clients change abnormal movement patterns to correct the underlying cause of many types of pain or injury. Almost anyone can "do Pilates" and improve their movement patterns, from our weakest clients who never exercise, all the way up to our elite level athletes.
